Three priests. One divine mishap. “Isang Komedya sa Langit” is a charming, wholesome motion picture that fuses history and humor, as three priests from 1872 are zapped into the modern world. Think ancient values in a world of mobile phones and taxis.
As the priests struggle to understand Manila’s events, places, gadgets, and even showbiz, audiences are treated to a comedy that’s not only enjoyable, but deeply meaningful. The priest's robe is intentionally caricatured to maintain the dreamlike tone of the story and avoid referencing any specific Catholic order, out of respect. Since this is a comedy, the costumes also add to the humor.
Playing the three priests from the past are Jaime Fabregas, EA Guzman and Gene Padilla; and the people who help them in the present are portrayed by Carmin Martin and Aki Blanco. All topnotch performers with a solid background in comedy. Also in the cast is John Medina.
Jaime Fabregas, a.k.a. Don Facundo Caballero of the top-rating series “Batang Quiapo”, tells viewers that “Isang Komedya sa Langit” is a special comedy. “Masaya ito! Isang adventure!
